reusable produce bags
I found these at my local market. But, I know they are also available at King Soopers and Safeway. Three savvy women started 3B bags locally here in Denver. They saw a real need to try and eliminate the use of plastic produce bags – and they were subsequently featured on the local evening news. Just weeks before the bags appeared in the store, I remember thinking to myself that it would be so nice to have an alternative to plastic produce bags. Low and behold, they show up on display at the store – and on sale to boot – so I bought several packages. If need be, you can wash them in your washing machine (dishwasher is not very effective). They are made of a gauzy-type mesh, have a drawstring and are sold as a set of 2 standard and 1 over-sized bag – which has come in quite handy for longer/wider items like chard and kale. I even took them to the farmers market over the weekend. As soon as I finish unpacking my groceries, I place the 3B bags back inside my shopping bags and then put everything right back in my trunk so I have always have them with me.

Nice! This is the first bag design I have seen with the specific purpose of eliminating the use of plastic produce bags (and not just shopping bags). It is nice to be able to keep produce separate from other groceries, without plastic.
Nice Articles, thanks for this, I really liked your blog!
thanks necktie! I appreciate it – so happy to welcome you!
hey jackson,
I just found out that one of the managers at my local health food store has a connection to these bags: her sister was one of the founders. Truly inspiring!
