go ahead honey, it’s gluten free holiday cookies!
Of all the times to have technical difficulties ! The plug-in for the contact form on my site was being very temperamental (to say the least). As a result, the lovely holiday cookie recipes you so kindly submitted have been swallowed by a black hole, an internet vacuum of sorts. Even my wonderful brother (who remains my stellar web designer and tech support) and who often blows me away with the depth of his technical expertise was unable to retrieve the emails from the abyss. My jaw was to the floor – how could this happen? The worse part is that I couldn’t fix it. Which doesn’t bode well for someone like me: if I am going to do something I am going to give 200%. The last few days I have been filled with this sinking feeling – I feel terrible about what has happened.
I keep reminding myself that in the end, it could have been worse, right !?! My whole website could have imploded. We have our health and our sanity (just barely :) and in the whole grand scheme of things this is a “don’t sweat the small stuff kind of moment”.
What I shall do – which I am sure has never happened in history of Go Ahead Honey, it’s Gluten Free (but, hey I really am going out with a bang here) – is this: I will continue to add submissions as I receive them. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience, friends. Below are the entries I received thus far. If you submitted something and you don’t see it here – please send it along to info@glutenfreebynature dot com – I’ll get your recipe posted immediately !

Next month – the first of 2010! – will be hosted by none other than Laura at Mouthgasmic. Her theme – rather a propos for January – is Stews from around the World. She’ll be posting rules for submission in a few days so stay tuned everyone!
I want to thank the brilliant Naomi for bestowing upon me the honor of hosting this last month of the decade! And I thank each and every one of you for your delicious and healthy submissions. Seriously, this gluten free community of ours is truly amazing – one of which I am truly grateful to be a part. I am so looking forward to all the things 2010 will bring: all the wonderful food to be shared, the friendships that are and that will be and the memories which have yet to be made. Most of all, may we all continue to be blessed with good health.
Happy New Year !

I’m sorry about the technical difficulties! You did a fantastic round-up! Happy New Year =D.
thank you, Lauren. I appreciate it !
Geez, I was beginning to think i may never again be given such an honored task because I mucked it up so badly!
Thanks again so much for your yummy entry:)
these all look so great – Thank you for hosting and I’m sorry to hear your site is being difficult. And – no apologies because these things happen and I hope you get everything fixed up soon!
Happy New year!
Lauren
Sorry this turned into such a stressful endeavor! But you did a wonderful job! I got so sugared out that I couldn’t even attempt to make my own recipe, but I’ve sampled many wonderful gluten free cookie recipes this year, and I’m excited to see many more here!
Hey Iris ! Thanks so much for stopping by :)
It wasn’t too stressful for me – I just really felt for everyone else — I didn’t want anyone else to feel left out, or anything. In the end, I think it worked out just fine. I believe everyone who wanted to submit was able to.
You’re like me – I was just so sugared out that I just couldn’t get it together – and it was my own month to host! I made about half a dozen batches of my maple masala pecans to give to the neighbors. Of course, I had to extensively sample each batch “just to make sure I was giving away delicious holiday snacks” After that, it wasn’t pretty. I am not sure I can go near pecans for a while….
best wishes for a great 2010 !
Stephanie
Stephanie, I feel your pain! Thank you so much for hosting at this busy time of year. You did a wonderful job, very much appreciated by us all. Hopefully you’ll be feeling in the mood for stews as January unfolds.
Happy New Year x x x
Stephanie, My heart goes out to you as I had my site hacked into recently and it caused me a bit of techy trauma as well. But you’re so right, life goes on and in the big picture, it’s not a big deal (we remind ourselves as we flail around and holler unconsolably.)
Gosh, you’re killing me with all these cookie recipes anyway. I have a few pounds of extra cookie weight to lose!
Wishing you all the best and no tech problems in 2010!
Melissa
This is a great list. My problem – how many can I make for my husband without his gaining five pounds?
Your shortbread looks great. Thanks for hosting.
I am off to visit the other participants.
Hi Naomi-
can you even get over these amazing recipes? I want to try all of them – but I have to restrain myself. I overdid it a bit around the holidays. I am attempting to turn over a new leaf, as they say, and get back into the regular flow of life.
Thanks again for giving me the opportunity to host. Not only did I have fun – but I learned a lot in the process :) Meeting all these wonderful bloggers has been a true joy !
Melissa,
Oh – I didn’t realize that you had some issues with your site. That’s so stressful. When I hear something like that – about someone hacking into a site – I struggle try to conceive why a person would voluntarily seek to inflict such evil on another person. It baffles me. I am rather fond of your “techy trauma” term. Fits the bill perfectly.
Oh, and by the way, I’m killing myself with all these cookies here. Slowly torturing myself as I edited and re-edited the post.
I simply loved your inspiring post-holiday action plan. (for anyone who hasn’t read it – please head over to Melissa’s site and be seriously motivated – http://www.glutenfreeforgood.com/blog/?p=1484 )

Hi Chaya,
I have to agree – it is a great list. We have some pretty talented people in our midst. I, for one, am so happy to have a big list of cookies to choose from the whole year long (when the occasion calls for it).
My husband is my taste tester – a job that he doesn’t mind most of the time. Sometimes I feel for him, since he’s not entirely gluten free (and he can get the real stuff on a whim). He’s funny though, when I do make something he likes – I rarely get any – it’s gone all at once.
Thanks again for your submission – I look forward to seeing more of your creations in 2010!
Stephanie
I wish I would have gotten it together to submit to this event. You did a great job with this round-up. So fun to see all the fabulous recipes!
Thanks for sharing all these gluten free recipes. I should add Vanilla Cookies to the list too http://www.glutenfreecuisines.com/index261.html they are my favorite.
